Rape Case Results in Reduced Sentences
The Court of Appeals upheld the decision for reduced punishment in the case of the mass rape of a 13-year-old girl based on the assumption that the girl gave her consent to the rape. Lawyer Yalçındağ warned that this is not a single case. The file was forwarded to the ECHR.

26 Women Killed by Men in July
According to data compiled by bianet, 26 women in Turkey were killed by men in July 2011. 21 women were raped, nine were harassed, 32 women were injured. The highest number of incidents involving violence against women occurred in Adana.

Reactions after PKK Attack in Hakkari
After PKK attacks that left 24 soldiers dead, a cross-border operation to Iraq was launched. According to Yüksekova Haber reporter Dara, even though the clashes did not spill into the city centre people in Hakkari are extremely concerned.
