At the 28th İstanbul Heavy Penal Court, academic Ç.A. has been sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison on charge of "propagandizing for an armed terrorist organization". The pronouncement of the verdict has been suspended.

The attorneys of arrested politician Selahattin Demirtaş have submitted an application for his release in the wake of the judgement pronounced by the ECtHR, which has ruled that all necessary measures shall be taken to end his pre-trial detention.
