The Platform for Solidarity with Detained Journalists protested the police custody of eleven people, among them two journalists and the Provincial Chair of the BDP in Adana. The Platform demanded the release of all eleven people.

The Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK abducted four village guards in the Beytüşebbap district of Şırnak in the evening of 7 September. Subsequently, a large-scale military operation was launched in the region.

Special operations police officer Serkan Akbulut was handed down a life sentence for killing Emrah Gezer because he sang a Kurdish song. The sentence was then mitigated to imprisonment of 19 years and 5 months due to "unjust provocation".
