The IPI has criticized the recent appointments to the state-run TRT’s executive board by a Presidential decree, raising concerns that it has been “turned into an outlet whose primary mission is to spread state propaganda.”

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has sent a letter to Presidency’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun. Calling for a press card reform, the Committee has said, “We urge you to abandon your hostile rhetoric toward journalists in Turkey.”
