Not permitted to meet HDP’s arrested Co-Mayor Demirtaş, Party of European Socialists Chair has said arrests are not acceptable.

Detained within the scope of the operation launched against HDP this morning, HDP Co-Chairs Yüksekdağ and Demirtaş have been arrested by the judgeship they appeared before.

Saying “I will not answer to any of your questions” in his testimony, HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş has been sent to court for arrest.

12 MPs including HDP Co-Chairs have been detained in house raids.

HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş has said, “There might be some attempts against our party and MPs in the upcoming days. Some lunacies such as detention, seize, bringing by force or even arrest may happen in Turkey”.

Regarding the decision to forcibly take seven HDP MPs to testify, Demirtaş has noted; “it is up to the discretion of law enforcement forces to carry out the order”.

HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş has said, “What is the harm in one of Öcalan’s attorneys having a brief meeting in İmralı?” in response to Minister Bozdağ saying “There is no problem with PKK Leader Öcalan’s security”.

A bill of indictment has been drawn up demanding up to five years in prison for HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş and the HDP Ankara MP Önder on charges of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization”.

HDP Co-Chairs Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ have been summoned by Ankara Public Prosecution to testify by instruction.

HDP Co Chair Demirtaş has criticized Erdoğan’s statement that “It will continue until doomsday”; called on the political parties in the parliament to stop the attacks.

HDP Co-Chairs have written to UN Secretary General Ban as to the First World Humanitarian Summit, mentioned the humanitarian crises in Turkey and the region, and the possible solutions.

Probe has been launched into HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş and DBP Co-Chair Yüksek making call for the march to be held against curfews and operations in Sur district of Diyarbakır province.

HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş has said, “We don’t know how many people have been killed in Cizre over 20 days. There is no exact figure because there isn’t any healthy process there”.

HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş telling they will themselves go to basement to provide aid for the wounded said, “We hope the people in there are still alive”.

HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş has expressed that they strongly condemn the attack on school which has left five children wounded.
