The Assembly of Workers Health and Occupational Safety has declared that 753 workers lost their lives during four months after the “Declaration of Occupational Health and Safety: Target is Zero”.

At least 217 workers lost their lives in occupational homicides in August. 198 of these workers were men and 19 were women. The most homicides occurred in İstanbul and Sakarya.

Vehicles carrying agricultural laborers have crashed Malatya, Adıyaman and Ankara, in one day. Three agricultural laborers lost their lives in the accidents, 47 others were injured in total.

According to the Occupational Health and Safety Council, at least 205 workers, 163 of whom are laborers/public servants, 30 others are farmers/small-scale landowners and 42 are self-employed including 12 tradespeople, have lost their lives in occupational homicides in July.

At least 148 workers in March, and 441 workers in the first three months of 2017 have lost their lives, according to the Assembly of Worker Health and Occupational Safety.

Of 56 child workers who lost their lives last year, seven were refugees, according to the Assembly of Worker Health and Occupational Safety.

A bill of indictment has been drafted against HDP Deputy Kürkçü and CHP Deputy Tanal demanding up to 7 years in prison on charges of “opposing to the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations” and “resisting in order to hinder fulfilling duty” in demonstration against lift incident killing ten people 2 years ago.

At least 141 workers have lost their lives, according to a report by Worker Health and Occupational Safety Assembly. At least 1,421 workers lost their lives in the first six months of 2016.
