At least 148 workers in March, and 441 workers in the first three months of 2017 have lost their lives, according to the Assembly of Worker Health and Occupational Safety.
Of the 148 workers killed in March, 130 were laborers and civil servants, 8 were farmers/smallholders, and 18 were self-employed people.
Distribution by age
Distribution of the occupational homicides that took place in March by age is as follows:
Age group 15-17: 2 child workers
Age group 18-27: 19 workers
Age group 28-50: 70 workers
Age group 51-64: 27 workers
65 and above: 9 workers.
There are 21 more workers whose age we couldn’t learn. (NV/TK)
