An explosion due to a gas leak at a coal mine in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak left 8 mine workers dead yesterday afternoon.

Questions Linger in the Air Following Deadly Munitions Blast in Afyon
Two consecutive blasts that killed 25 troops and injured four more at a barracks in the western province of Afyon on Wednesday evening triggered a flurry of questions with regards to the cause of the incident. The General Staff consequently issued a statement which criticized the press for its coverage of the blast but failed to yield any answers.

Police Detain Four Suspects After Deadly Gaziantep Blast
Law enforcement officials took four suspects under custody in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa in connection with Monday’s lethal blast in neighboring Gaziantep that killed nine people and injured 69 more. Rioting mobs also attacked the offices of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) once more in Gaziantep yesterday evening.

Bomb Attack on Police Bus in Istanbul
A bus of the riot forces was bombed in front of the AKP Provincial Presidency and the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen in Istanbul this morning. Ten policemen were slightly injured in the attack.

10 People Killed by Roadside Bomb in the South-East
10 minibus passengers died in an explosion in the south-eastern province of Hakkari, four people got wounded. The Kurdish KCK blamed the "counter guerrilla" for the attack. PM Erdoğan said the attack would "not remain unanswered".
