On the first day of the internet filtering system, access was denied to many underwear and condom brands. After a storm of protest in the social media, most of these sites were removed from the filter.

The Facebook Turkey team apologized to journalist Çakır for closing down his account and the "Homology" group he administers "by mistake". Access to another group that called on Minister Kavaf to resign is still blocked.

YouTube Removed Videos of Former Opposition Leader
After another decision for an access ban on YouTube, officials of the global video sharing site removed the videos on subject from the data base. The Telecommunications Communication Presidency had requested the removal of videos concerning former CHP Chairman Baykal.

Video Sharing Site Vimeo.com Banned
Three years after the access ban of YouTube, the video sharing site Vimeo.com was temporarily banned as well. The Telecommunication Communication Presidency blocked access for a few days upon a "protection decision" issued by the Ankara Public Chief Prosecution.

Playboy Website Censored Before Religious Holidays
Without a related court decision, the Telecommunication Communication Presidency banned access to the Playboy website because of a technical inspection. The ban comes right before the religious holidays. YouTube.com is banned in Turkey since 5 May 2008.

Deputy Governor Had Website Banned
A Şanlıurfa court decided to ban access to the Sanlıurfa.com website due to articles and reader comments criticizing Deputy Governor Yıdıray Malğaç. Assoc. Prof. Dr Akdeniz said the decision was a breach of the law.
