The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) İmralı Delegation have made a written application to the Ministry of Justice for a second meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Following the Republican People’s Party (CHP), the delegation will meet with representatives of the Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) and the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi).

Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) members of parliament Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder stated that they would not be providing further information to the press regarding their meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan due to the “sensitivity of the process”.

DEM Party announces that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan proposes “constructive solutions to counter the imposed scenarios of a bleak future”.

The Ministry of Justice has positively responded to the application the People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) made to meet with the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. The meeting could take place tomorrow if weather permits.

When asked whether there will be a meeting between Öcalan and DEM, the president said, “They’re meeting.”
