Journalist Fatih Altaylı responded to those criticizing him pointing at a photograph showing him with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan in a column article.

"We are concerned about the health and also the life of Abdullah Öcalan and the other prisoners, Veysi Aktaş, Ömer Hayri Konar and Hamili Yıldırım who are kept in the İmralı prison," say the MP's.

"Saying delegations should be sent to İmralı is much more moral and legitimate than saying soldiers should be send across the border," Demirtaş wrote.

The CPT reportedly neither confirmed nor denied the allegations that Öcalan did not show up during a visit in September.
