Men Killed 12 Women in January 2012
According to the tally compiled by bianet, male perpetrators killed twelve women, four children and three men in January 2012. 26 women and two children were wounded. Ten women were raped. Women were mostly treated violently by their husbands.

Law Proposal against "Unjustified Arrest"
BDP deputy Aksoy submitted a law proposal to prevent unjustified arrests and avoid lengthy detention periods to be turned into punishment. Aksoy suggests to amend Article 100/3 of the Criminal Procedure Law related to catalogue crimes.

104 journalists and 30 distributors went to jail until the end of 2011. The journalists are in prison under allegations of affiliations with illegal organizations in the scope of the Anti-Terror Law and the Turkish Criminal Law. 94 out of these 134 press workers are from Kurdish media outlets.
