CHP Vice Chair Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi has announced that 51,748 girls were subjected to sexual violence between 2014 and 2017, citing the figures of the Ministry of Interior.

Men have killed 23 women and attempted to kill at least two women in the second month of 2019. They also raped two women and harassed at least six women.

Releasing its 2018 report, the Legal Aid Bureau Against Sexual Harassment and Rape in Detention demanded the İstanbul Convention be implemented.
