Frederike Geerdink, a foreign journalists based in Diyarbakır, has been detained by the police for “terrorism propaganda” charges.
She sent the following message on Twitter:
terrorism police just searched my house, team of 8 guys. they take me to the station now. charge: 'propaganda for terrorist organization'

Diyarbakır Bar Association Chairman Tahir Elçi told bianet that Geerdink has been detained within an investigation launched by Diyarbakır Prosecutor's Office due to her tweets. Elçi said Geerdink is expected to be released in a few hours after her statement.
A resident of Turkey since 2005 and of Diyarbakır since 2012, Geerdink has been covering on Turkey’s Kurdish questions on Kurdish Matters website. She also reports for the Diken news website. Geerdink is the author of "De Jongens Zijn Dood" - a book in Dutch on the Kurdish question, smuggling, village guards, unclaimed killings of 1990s and forced migrations through Roboski Massacre.
