Journalist Geerdink Deported from Van Province

Living in Diyarbakır province, in southeastern Turkey and on trial for her articles related to Kurdish question with allegations that she was 'making propaganda of terrorist organization', Dutch journalist Frederike Geerdink is being deported from the Airport of Van province in eastern Turkey.
Four days ago, Geerdink had been detained with Human Shield Group in Yüksekova district of Hakkari province in eastern Turkey. Governorship of Hakkari sent a report ‘She is a foreigner and she must be deported’ to security officials on September 8 even though Geerdink was released.
Lawyer: We will resort to the judgement
Bianet reached lawyer Davut Uzunköprü and Uzunköprü said he and Geerdink met and he would resort to Administrative Court even Geerdink was deported.
Thomas Bruning, Netherlands Association of Journalists (NVJ) General Secretary had told:
"It is unacceptable for journalists of foreign origin like Frederike Geerdink to be detained.”
Geerdink had been detained before
Geerdink had been accused of “making propaganda of an illegal organization,” and was detained in January 2015.
