Colonel Öz Tried at High Court after 3 Years
A new case was opened against Colonel Öz, former Trabzon Gendarmerie Commander, under charges of "neglect of duty", this time at the Trabzon High Criminal Court. He is charged with the same allegations at the Magistrate Court. The Dink family lawyers demand to merge the trials at the High Court.

Publisher Zarakolu and Writer Güler on Trial for the next Book
The trial against publisher Zarakolu and writer Güler on the grounds of the book "The KCK file/Global state and Kurds without a state" has started. Güler demanded to lift the ban of the book. The case was postponed to 2 December.

Güney magazine editorial manager Özer is prosecuted over allegations of "spreading PKK propaganda" because of a story written by Mehmet Söğüt and a short picture story by Meray Ülgen. The first hearing is scheduled for 7 October.

8th Trial for Journalist Saymaz - 70-year Sentence Impending
Radikal newspaper reporter Ismail Saymaz will be tried for his article "Love games in Ergenekon" and faces imprisonment of 11.5 years. The 1st hearing is scheduled for 2011. This is the 8th case filed against Saymaz who faces prison sentences of a total of 70 years.

The case against Günlük newspaper officials Koçali, Pekgöz and Çiçekçi has reached its final stage. They are tried for an interview with the leader of the Democratic Confederation of Kurdistan. Their lawyer requested their acquittal. The case continues on 23 November.

14 Life Sentences in Trial against Terror Organization THKP/C
12 out of 25defendants in the case against the THKP/C Dev-Sol terrorist organization received life sentences; aggravated life sentences were handed down to 2 culprits. They were tried for 69 crimes committed from 1989-1991. Charges against 7 defendants were dropped by prescription.
