Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chair Sadi Güven has announced the unofficial results of repeat İstanbul Metropolitan Mayoral election. While CHP’s İmamoğlu has received 54.2 percent of the votes, AKP candidate Yıldırım has received 44.99 percent.

According to the latest data shared by Ekrem İmamoğlu, the candidate of the Nation Alliance for Metropolitan Mayorship of İstanbul, İmamoğlu is ahead of Binali Yıldırım, the candidate of People’s Alliance, with a margin of 18 thousand 742 votes.

Making a statement about the local elections, Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chair Sadi Güven has stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu has been leading in İstanbul by a margin of 27 thousand 889 votes according to the data of the council.

Supreme Election Council Chair Güven, speaking on the claims regarding imaginary voters, has said that 56,496 voters' registrations were suspended because of not residing in dwellings where they were previously registered.

The bill that extends Supreme Election Council members' tenures and includes many changes regarding issues such as traffic fines and unlicensed waterfront buildings on the Bosphorus has been passed by the parliament.

Chair of Supreme Election Council Sadi Güven and its six members have not met the OSCE delegation who has come to Turkey to monitor the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
