Trial of Tolu who was arrested while working as translator at ETHA, started today. The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs had stated that they would observe the trial of Tolu who is a German citizen.

Officials accused Güllüzar Erman of robbing a bank based on a stranger’s testimony provided under torture and despite the account of events offered by eyewitnesses. Erman has remained under arrest for nine years and received a sentence of life-time imprisonment.

A court in the southern province of Adana ruled to sentence speech and hearing impaired Mehmet Tahir İlhan to eight years and four months in prison for making propaganda on behalf of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK.)
