The ECHR evaluated a police attack on students protesting against the Higher Education Council YÖK law draft as "humiliating treatment". The European Court ruled Turkey to pay a total of 68,000 TL in compensation to 10 students.

Two Police Officers Suspended under Torture Allegations
Mersin governor Aksoy suspended 2 police officers because of exposing violence to 2 brothers in the Republic Police Office. Ministerial inspectors are required to investigate. Footage of the incident shows police officers still kicking and beating the brothers after they fell down to the floor.

Policeman Shot in the Chase for a Child
A policeman got fatally injured by a bullet when the police used the force of arms to stop one of two arrested children to run away. Yoleri from İHD criticised, "There is no justification to use weapons against children, not even in case of a quarrel".

Açıkalın from the Human Rights Association is on trial again because he condemned an action of a police officer in Hakkari. The police officer beat a 17-year-old child on the head with his rifle butt. Açıalın is charged with "demonstrating against the law". The court will start on 2 November.
