All arrested suspects have been released in the trial of the occupational homicide killing 16 miners in a copper mine in Şirvan district of Siirt province.

According to data of the Association for Labor Health and Occupation Safety, 1,571 miners have lost their lives in occupational homicides in the mines during the AKP term.

At least 190 workers have lost their lives in November. Of the killed, eight were women, 182 were men whereas two were children eight were immigrants.

A landslide has occurred in the copper mine site in Maden village of Şirvan district of Siirt province. Two mine workers who were trapped in the wreckage have lost their lives. The search and rescue teams are trying to free the other 13 mine worker from the wreckage.
