Workers on Their Way to May Day Celebrations in Urfa Have Traffic Accident
Workers who were on their way to May Day celebrations in Urfa had a traffic accident. While five people have lost their lives in the accident, 15 workers have been wounded. Four of the wounded are in serious condition.

All roads leading to Taksim Square have been closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians have been denied access to İstiklal Avenue due to the May 1 Labor Day. Pedestrians are requested to present “an official document which proves that they work on May 1.”

May Day Ends with Excessive Police Violence
Unions ended the May Day activity in Şişli following the excessive violence by the police forces. DİSK president Çelebi said that “Our friends ended up in the hospitals. They used all kinds of violence. Whole Turkey became Taksim.”
