Dink Family Petitions Prosecution of Public Officials
After the final hearing of the trial related to the Hrant Dink murder in January, the family of the slain Turkish-Armenian journalist applied to the chief prosecutor's office for the litigation of public officials in the context of the murder.

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Hammarberg found the decision of the Hrant Dink murder trial "disappointing" and questioned why the forces behind the murder have not been investigated. In his opinion, journalists in Turkey are being jailed on the grounds of their critical writings.

Thousands of People Commemorate Hrant Dink
Thousands of people walked from Taksim to the office of the Agos newspaper in Şişli to commemorate Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink at the place he was killed five years ago. Two days after the Dink trial was concluded, banners reading "This trial will not end that way" were dominating the scene.

Intelligence Official's Threat against Dink Time-Barred?
In 2004, two members of the National Intelligence Agency allegedly gave slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Dink a lesson on where his place was at a meeting at the Governor's Office. The related investigation was now time-barred.

The plaintiff lawyers presented their final speech at the 22nd hearing of the trial on the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Repeatedly requested records of the Telecommunication Communication Presidency were finally sent to court and will be investigated now.

Court of Appeals: "No Defamation of Hrant Dink"
The Court of Appeals quashed a verdict initially given in favour of the family of slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Dink. A local court had ruled for an attack on Dink's personal rights due to a documentary on TRT. The Dink family lawyers demanded a revision of the decision.

No Prosecution of "Trabzon Police" for Dink Murder
The Rize High Criminal Court dismissed the appeal filed by the Dink family lawyers against the closure of procedures regarding officials of the Trabzon police. Domestic remedies have been exhausted upon the rejection of the Rize court.

Witness Çakmakçı confirmed the previous statement of a secret witness saying that triggerman suspect Samast was accompanied by two individuals at the murder of journalist Dink. Footage of the incident can definitely not be restored.

Trabzon Prosecution Broadens Investigation
The Rize High Criminal Court insisted on the reversal of the decision given by the Trabzon Chief Prosecution regarding alleged negligence prior to the murder of journalist Dink. The Prosecution had decided to drop procedures. Now, the investigation will be broadened.

Almost 4 years after the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Dink, the court is still evaluating the request for a joint plaintiff status of the Dink family lawyers. The Trabzon High Criminal Court is waiting for defendant Öz's lawyer, the Magistrate Court awaits the High Court's decision on merging the files.

ECHR Decision not yet Considered in Trabzon Trial
Şevki Uluçam, lawyer of defendant Colonel Öz, insists on his request to recuse the judge in the Trabzon case on "neglect" regarding the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Dink. The recently pronounced conviction of Turkey by the ECHR will be considered on 24 November.

Death Threat for Journalist Pekgöz
News chief of Günlük newspaper Ramazan Pekgöz was threatened by a person on the street who said, "We finished Hrant Dink off. We will do the same to you". After Pekgöz complained at the police station in Taksim/Istanbul, the person who threatened him was arrested.
