Court rules that journalist Aziz Oruç shall remain behind bars
Arrested since December 2019, journalist Aziz Oruç had his first hearing. While the court has released Muhammet İkram Müftüoğlu and HDP Doğubayazıt District Co-Chair Abdullah Ekelek on probation, it has ruled that the arrest of Oruç shall continue.

In examining the objections of six journalists behind bars due to their news on the funeral of an intelligence officer, the court apparently did not inform their attorneys, summoned other lawyers from the bar and ruled for the continuation of their pre-trial detention.
