The attacker who threw a molotov cocktail at Beth Israel Synagogue in İzmir on March 28 has been caught and arrested for "damaging places of worship."

According to the unofficial local election results announced by the İstanbul Provincial Election Council, Ekrem İmamoğlu, the candidate of Nation Alliance for Metropolitan Mayorship of İstanbul, has been ahead by a margin of 24 thousand 408 votes.

HDP nominated one man and one woman for each municipality it raced for. It has won 58 municipalities which will be run together by men and women.

Speaking about the loss of AKP in local elections in Eynesil, Giresun, Şaban Vatan, who has been campaigning to solve the suspicious death of his daughter Rabia Naz, has stated, “We have won our first victory now. God willing, justice will be served.”

Making a statement after the Anadolu Agency has updated its data, İmamoğlu has stated, “Truths come out sooner or later.” Yıldırım has also said that the number of invalid votes in İstanbul is ten times higher than the margin, implying the result can change.

The Anadolu Agency stopped updating election results last night after CHP İstanbul candidate began to catch his AKP rival. After not updating figures for 13 hours, it has finally declared that CHP is ahead in İstanbul.

HDP Co-Chairs Buldan and Temelli have evaluated the local election results, saying, "If we took an important step all across Turkey, we did this with the Kurdish people, Turkey's laborers, women, youth."

CHP Spokesperson Öztrak has made a statement regarding the local elections and said, “There are serious issues reported to us. Service vehicles owned by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality have started to be granted to municipalities won by the AKP.”
