Frescoes in İstanbul’s Chora Museum covered up ahead of first Friday prayer
Converted into a mosque, Chora (Kariye) Museum’s frescoes and mosaics have been covered up with a white curtain. Dating back to the Byzantine period when it was built as a monastery, the museum is expected to be opened to worship this Friday.

The Ministry of Health has announced that Turkey’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 9,950 and the total number of patients to 366,208. 76 people have died of the virus and the number of new patients has been announced as 2,209 in the last 24 hours.
