Civil Protection Units (YPS) has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack killing Derik sub-Governor Muhammet Fatih Safitürk (35) in Mardin.
According to a report by Fırat News Agency (ANF), YPS has made the following statement regarding the attack;
"Our units in Mardin Derik have carried out a sabotage against trustee of the Justice Development Party (AKP) to resist the fascism of the [Presidential] Palace, especially in the memory of Derik Martyrs. Trustee Muhammed Fatih Safitürk was killed, three of his guards have been injured".

Sub-Governor Muhammet Fatih Safitürk was appointed to Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Derik sub-Governorship as a trustee in September.
25 people are in custody
Yesterday (November 10) at 12.10 p.m. a bomb attack was carried out in the sub-Governorship building in Mardin, Safitürk and two others were injured.
Mardin Governorship had announced that the attack was carried out with an improvised explosive device and the ANF reported that Safitürk was targeted in the attack.
Antep Governor Ali Yerlikaya had announced that Derik sub-Governor Muhammet Fatih Safitürk who was injured in the attack carried out by members of (PKK in Mardin yesterday) lost his life in the hospital.
State-run Anadolu Agency announced that 25 people were taken into custody in the investigation launched into the attack. (AS/DG)
