Thousands of Facebook users in Turkey shared a photo of a text conversation between a woman client and a delivery man affiliated with Bambi Kuruyemiş where the latter harassed the former with insults.
The incident took place as M.Ö. placed an order from Bambi Kuruyemiş and the delivery person was unable to finalize the payment at the door - a problem that was resolved only after a supervisor came to the door of the client.
Following that, the delivery man started sending text messages to the woman including insults with f-word. He also threatened her that he knew her number and whereabouts.
As of 1:30pm local time, M. Ö.’s post has been shared for 7,454 times on Facebook. Departing from the note, Bambi Cafe shared an apology note on its Facebook page.
“In a period that harassment and violence against women have opened so many wounds in our society, we are informing that we have dismissed the aforementioned staff from our company,” the note said.
It also added that that employee started working at Bambi Cafe only 7 days ago.
bianet also contacted Bambi Cafe officials who said that they have filed a criminal complaint against the employee. On the other hand, Yemeksepeti, an online food order platform through which M. Ö. placed the order, declined to respond bianet’s inquiries on the issue. (EA/BM)
