Police conducted an operation this morning (April 26) in İzmir against people, about whom an investigation was launched due to their social media posts.
In the house raids conducted by police, a number of suspects, including the members of Freedom and Solidarity Party (ÖDP), have been detained.
Among those who have been detained in the house raids is also Onur Kılıç, who is also a member of the ÖDP Central Executive Board and has been previously arrested and detained once for the same reason.
Taken into custody on charges of "inciting the public to enmity and hatred", "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" and "insulting the President" in July 2017, Kılıç was then released on probation. He was also arrested for 13 days before on charge of "insulting the President."
In the house raids conducted today, Necati Özdemir from the district of Baloçova in İzmir and Cihangir Köroğlu, an executive from the ÖDP in Denizli have also been detained and taken to the İzmir Security Directorate.
Coşkun Arslan and Mahir Torunoğlu from the ÖDP are currently imprisoned due to their social media posts. (AS/SD)
