People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Group Interim Co-Chairpersons Pervin Buldan and İdris Baluken had a meeting with Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ.
Following the meeting, HDP Group Interim Co-Chair Buldan responded press inquiries from journalist Banu Güven on Artı Haber TV.
Buldan delivered Justice Minister Bozdağ’s message that their existing 3-member delegation had no issues.
No obstacle against Imralı visits
“As Mr Bozdağ expressed, there is no issues with Imrali visits and it will be scheduled in the days to come,” she said.
“There is no visit date set, but the new visit will include 5 members.”
She also added that while the speculated new members, Hatip Dicle and Ceylan Bağrıyanık, have not been confirmed yet. They would likely to be confirmed on the days to come.
“Third eye” will join
“Observation council, expanded negotiation delegation and secretariat…That makes around 25 to 30 people.”
Secretariat request approved
Buldan also added that their request for the assignment of secretariat for jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan has not been declined.
She also continued with the necessity of PKK leader Öcalan’s conditions improvement for the efficiency of the pace of negotiations.
Observation Council
According to Al Jazeera Türk, the “third eye” mechanism will consist of 16 members with 13 from Turkey’s Wise People - a delegation to work closely on the Kurdish problem.
The names of the delegation are expected to be submitted to Öcalan on the next visit. Following his approval, the government will have the last say. Later on, the duties and members of observation council will be announced to the public. (AS/BM)
