A group of doctors who were also affected by the earthquake in Hatay, Türkiye said the rescue efforts should continue.
The group read out a statement in front of the Mustafa Kemal University hospital today (February 15) calling for the authorities not to end the rescue works. They said life functions can continue for up to four weeks in a life triangle.
Istanbul Medical Chamber also shared the statement of the doctors in Hatay and said, "Pay attention to them."
Chance to stay alive for up to four weeks
The group of doctors said in their statement, "We are doctors in Hatay and earthquake victims and we are hearing that the rescue efforts will be finalized. We also see that the works are much slower and even stopped in some places."
"As physicians, we come across people rescued on the ninth day from the wreckage and see that their life functions were only little affected." the doctors said and called for the rescue efforts to continue. (TY/PE)
