Death toll rises to 36,187 in Türkiye
The Disaster and Emergency Presidency revised the number of people lost in Türkiye so far in the February 6 Maraş earthquakes.

The Disaster and Emergency Presidency (AFAD) updated the death toll in the February 6 earthquakes centered in Maraş, Türkiye, and announced that 36,187 people died.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake centered in Pazarcık, Maraş and another 7.6 magnitude one centered in Elbistan, Maraş struck southern Türkiye and northern Syria on February 6, 2023.
The earthquakes resulted in vast destruction in the Maraş, Antep, Hatay, Adana, Osmaniye, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Malatya, Adıyaman ve Elazığ provinces. (AÖ/PE)
