Journalists Kayar, Tekin Detained

Etkin News Agency (ETHA) reporter Ali Sönmez Kayar and Seyri Sokak reporter and documentary director Sibel Tekin have been taken into custody.

Kayar was detained in Aksaray, İstanbul last night (February 1).

ETHA reported that Anti-Terror teams didn’t explain the reason for the detention, Sönmez was taken to İstanbul Security Directorate.

Besides, Seyri Sokak reporter and documentary director Sibel Tekin is also among the people who were detained due to their social media posts about Turkey’s military operation into Afrin. Police are searching Tekin’s home. (EA/TK)
