Ergenekon Indictment Will Be Late After All
The indictment of the year long Ergenekon investigation will be delayed. Although previously the major cause of the delay was the technical problems, now it is also the new detentions.
Authorities announced that the technical difficulties encountered in entering the text of the indictment into the computers of the National Judiciary Network Project (UYAP) would delay the presentation of the indictment. The computer work has been going on for more than a year now.
According to Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor, the new detentions are causing the delay of the announcement of the 2500 page long indictment.
The authorities had announced previously that there would not be any delay and in case if there were a delay, they would present what they had so far and create an additional indictment from the latest detentions. (EÖ/EZÖ/TB)
