The Istanbul police took another ten people into custody in the scope of the "Ergenekon" investigation. The office of Ergenekon case lawyer Yusuf Erikel was searched.

"Ergenekon": 10 New Arrestes, Raid on Lawyer's Office

A further ten people were arrested on 22 March by a team of the Istanbul Branch Directorate against Organized Crime in the scope of the investigation into the "Ergenekon terror organization" going on since June 2007.

Upon a search warrant issued by the court, the office of lawyer Yusuf Erikel in Istanbul was searched on Monday (22 March). Erikel is pleading the cases of the ten people arrested.

Accordiong to CNN Türk, Erikel is the lawyer of Lieutenants Noyan Çalıkuşu, Eren Mumcu, Önder Koç,Hasan Hüseyin Uçar, Mehmet Ali Çelebi ile Neriman Aydın, Kemal Aydın, Durmuş Ali Özoğlu, İbrahim Özcan and Hamza Demir, defendants in the second Ergenekon case. The lawyer was said to be among the ten people arrested and being interrogated on Monday. (EÖ/VK)
