President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that the referendum held in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region was not legitimate. “Let’s see where will they sell the oil via which channels? We have the valve. That is over when we’ve closed the valve”, Erdoğan said.
Speaking at the International Ombudsman Meeting, Erdoğan describe the referendum decision as “opportunism”.
Saying that “We may come all of a sudden”, Erdoğan stated, “We will determinedly continue to take our steps and that the Northern Iraq Regional Government must take this step back. This is a must”.
“The federal government strongly rejects it. The parliament rejects this as well. Of course, we will not let one or multiple terror states be founded. PYD (Democratic Union Party), YPG (Peoples’ Protection Units) speak about founding a state in the northern Syria… These are all just a dream for them”.
“Entrance and exits will be closed”
“We are taking steps and will continue to do so with respect to trade, security, finance and politics.
“We will announce the other precautions we will take within this week. Entrances and exits will be closed.
“Let’s see where will they sell the oil via which channels? We have the valve. That is over when we’ve closed the valve”.
“We may come all of a sudden”
“We have a 911-km border to Syria. We will never allow such a settlement here. As I’ve sad, we may come all of a sudden. We did that in the Operation Euphrates Shield”. (YY/TK)
