Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu in his speech at Confederation of Artisan and Artists of Turkey (TESK) has made explanations about parliamentary immunities.
Davutoğlu in response to opposition’s proposal to lift all parliamentary immunities responded, “Bring it on…Let us bring 506 summary of proceedings to parliament”.
There are in total 506 summary of proceedings of which 41 belong to Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), 33 belong to People’s Republican Party (CHP), 22 belong to Justice and Development Party (AKP), and six belong to Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). Should the summary of proceedings brought to parliament, AKP may remove the immunity of any MP it wishes since it has the majority in the parliament.
Davutoğlu stating security precautions have been taken in maximum in Ankara and İstanbul, said that citizens have to trust in themselves and their cities.
Here are some headlines from Davutoğlu’s speech:
“Security precautions have been taken in maximum”
“You can be sure that security precautions have been taken in maximum in Ankara and İstanbul as in other cities.
“Our security forces are working to maintain public order in Ankara. We expect our citizens to not let terror wear us out like they are expecting.
“The biggest precaution here is that state and nation be locked on the same target. We are in great effort to deliver terrorists to justice.
“In this respect, our citizens have to trust in themselves and their cities but not surrender to climate terror try to create.
“We want to see the stance of other parties as well because this is a test of sincerity”.
“Bring it on”
“They try to make it look like the AKP refrains from lifting parliamentary immunities. I am calling on especially Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, let us all lift parliamentary immunities.
“We are ready to bring 506 summary of proceedings to parliament. Since you’ve challenged, then I say bring it on”.
“Those who pay condolence visit will account for it”
“Those who still pay condolence visit to terrorists will account for it.
“An MP paying condolence visit to a terrorist cannot be defended in any country of the world”.
