Hot air balloon rides have resumed in Cappadocia, Nevşehir in central Turkey after a five-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the first ride yesterday (August 23), tourists were instructed about hygiene and mask rules.
The ride was done during sunrise, allowing tourists to view the Göreme Open Air Museum, the valley of love, Uçhisar Castle and Sword Valley.
The authorities reduced the number of balloons that can operate at the same time to prevent overcrowding.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation previously announced that balloon rides were postponed until October 1 but then changed its decision.
The general coordinator of a balloon ride company, Abdullah İnal, told the Anadolu Agency (AA) that they expected an increase in foreign tourists after the resumption of the balloon rides.
