Artist Ferhat Tunç has been prosecuted on charge of “propagandizing for a terror organization”.
Charged with promoting Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Tunç will stand trial at Çağlayan Courthouse in İstanbul on December 14, 2017 at 9 a.m.
Following offenses were included in the indictment prepared by İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office:
Sharing photos of illegal PKK/KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) terror organizations on May 24, 2016 and praising these people.
Propagandizing for the organization by defining a figure killed in Rojava as martyr on November 22, 2015.
Making requests for ringleader of the illegal armed organization with phrase such as “worries about Öcalan for whom millions call leader must be eased, in order to end his isolation…” in his postings on September 5, 2016. (EKN/TK)
