Arınç: Congratulations to President of Constitutional Court

Former Vice Prime Minister Bülent Arınç has evaluated Constitutional Court’s decision of “rights violation” regarding the arrest of Cumhuriyet daily’s Editor in Chief Can Dündar, and its Ankara Representative Erdem Gül and the critics on the decision.

Holding a speech on the conference “Turkish Politics from Past to Today”, in Bilkent University, Arınç has noted; “Decisions of the Constitutional Court are decisions to be accepted by everyone whether one likes it or not.

Noting that Erdem Gül and Can Dündar had been performing their journalistic duties, Arınç has pointed that he had been against their arrest and everybody had to defend the truth.

Congratulating Constitutional Court’s Chief Judge Zühtü Arslan who had responded as “our decisions bind every individual and institution” over President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s statement on the court’s verdict of “rights violation” that he did neither obey nor respect the decision, Arınç has expressed; “I stand by Zühtü Arslan and congratulate him on his decision”.
