Ufuk Uras, Istanbul MP and chair of the Freedom and Solidarity Party (ÖDP), has asked Minister of the Interior Besir Atalay about the police and gendarmerie officers in Trabzon, who, according to the report of the Istanbul Chief Prosecution on the murder of Hrant Dink, abused their positions, acted negligently and even let evidence disappear.
Uras asked the following:
- After these facts were established about the Trabzon police and gendarmerie officers, was there any action taken?
- Was an investigation into the officers carried out? And were these officers allowed to carrry on in their posts while there was an investigation?
- If an investigation was carried out into the Trabzon police officers and the Trabzon gendarmerie officers, were these officers the same people who presented the evidence to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecution which was carrying out the investigation into the Hrant Dink murder and the Istanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court which is in charge of the murder trial?
