7 Released in KCK Media Case

Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court ordered the release of defendants Ramazan Pekgöz, Nurettin Fırat, Turabi Kişin, Yüksel Genç, Davut Uçar, Ertuş Bozkurt and Mikail Barut pending trial.

7 defendants were released with KCK Media case.

Following its monthly evaluations, Istanbul 3^rd High Criminal Court ordered the release of defendants Ramazan Pekgöz, Nurettin Fırat, Turabi Kişin, Yüksel Genç, Davut Uçar, Ertuş Bozkurt and Mikail Barut.

Demir: A late ruling

“Of course, we are happy to hear this but this ruling could be issued when they were detained in the first place maybe a month or a year ago. Since they were arrested, no single progress was made on their case files. This way, they were only deprived of their freedoms. Of course, the court released them pending a trial, so the trial will still resume,” Ramazan Demir, one of the defendant attorneys in the case, told bianet.

The latest release orders left no jailed defendants in KCK Media case while Mikail Barut will still remain in prison due to another conviction. (EA/BM)
