An armed conflict erupted between security forces and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the village of Karşılar in Turkey's eastern province of Dersim last evening (June 11).
Four soldiers who were wounded in the conflict were taken to the Tunceli State Hospital by a helicopter.
While Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Emre Üçkan from Simav, Kütahya and Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Ökkeş Ede from Osmaniye lost their lives in the conflict, the other two soldiers are still in treatment at hospital.
As reported in the press, operations are continuing in the region.
6 soldiers died in June
According to the official website of the Ministry of National Defense, six soldiers have lost their lives in June 2019 so far.
The names of the deceased soldiers are Celal Hayta, Uğur Görkem Harmankaya, Fatih Öz, İbrahim Alıcı, Ali Yılmaz and Yasin Çubuk. (AS/SD)
