The court has ruled continuation of detention of all defendants in Zaman trial in which 31 defendants 21 of whom are detained on remand are standing trial. The hearings will resume on December 8.

Arrested defendant former Zaman daily columnist Şahin Alpay said, “I am innocent. I just exercised my freedom of expression secured by the Constitution and the European Court of Human Rights”.

“Which crime I am committing with which article of mine? I am exercising my freedom of expression. Intriguer, disorder and warmongering are my red line", said former Zaman daily columnist Ali Bulaç.
