The defendant of Vartinis massacre case still a ‘fugitive’
In the trial over the burning of nine people to death in Muş in 1993, the court has ruled that the execution of the arrest warrant against the then district gendarmerie commander shall be awaited. The case is facing the risk of expiry of statutory limitations.

Vartinis Massacre taken to Constitutional Court
The attorneys of the people burned to death in the Vartinis Massacre in 1993 have applied to the Constitutional Court and demanded that three recently acquitted soldiers be put on trial again and the commander who gave the order be arrested.

‘Defendant found guilty of 9 murders, but not arrested’
In the trial over the Vartinis Massacre, the 1st Penal Chamber of the Court of Cassation has acquitted three soldiers, while ruling that Hasköy Gendarmerie Commander Karaoğlu shall be put on trial again. Lawyer Karaçelik notes that he is not arrested.
