Caught while fleeing after bombing the Umut Bookshop in Hakkari’s Şemdinli in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeast, non-commissioned military officers Ali Kaya and Özcan İldeniz and informant Veysel Ateş have been acquitted in retrial.

The third hearing of the November 2005 Şemdinli Bombing was held on Friday. Lawyer Aslan is suspicious of some of the court proceedings that can be construed as attempts to help the defendants.
