The 12th High Criminal Court in Istanbul ordered the release of Soner Yalçın, an imprisoned journalist since February 2011 who was charged with "being an Ergenekon terrorist organization member", "igniting hatred and revenge amid public" and "publishing top secret government files".

Journalists Yalçın, Pehlivan and Terkoğlu from the Oda TV news site applied to court for their release pending trial. They were arrested last week. Journalist Balbay, detained in the scope of the Ergenekon trial for 31 months, applied to the ECHR.

Journalists Soner Yalçın, Barış Pehlivan and Barış Terkoğlu were arrested and detained in an Istanbul prison on 18 February. The employees of the Oda TV news portal are alleged of "membership of a terrorist organization. Their colleague Ayhan Bozkurt was released.
