The new prosecutor in the Agos case says that the court verdicts can be critiqued as well and both Agos journalists, Aris Nalcı and Sarkis Seropyan, are acquitted.

The public prosecutor demanded punishment for Sarkis Seropyan and Aris Nalcı of the newspaper Agos. They are on trial for “obstructing proceedings for fair trial.” The lawyers say that there is no need for defense, since the decision has already been made.

The Initiative Against Thought Crime restarts its activities as a reaction to the increased number of law suits targeting people who simply express their opinions. 200 people report themselves to the authorities for the same “crime”.

The trial of Arat Dink and Sarkis Seropyan under Article 301 continues on 11 October.
