Lawyers in Custody - Raid on Özgür Gündem Newspaper
About 100 people, most of them lawyers, were taken into police custody in the course of the latest KCK operations in several provinces of Turkey on 22 November. The Özgür Gündem newspaper was raided as well as many private homes and offices.

University student Morsümbül who spent his childhood at the meetings of the Saturday Mothers and visits at the Bayrampaşa Prison was taken into police custody because he demanded free education. He was told in custody, "We might 'lose' you just as we 'lost' your uncle".

KCK Operation: 137 People in Custody

Batman: 20 People in Police Custody
20 people in Batman, mostly affiliated to the pro-Kurdish BDP, were taken into police custody in the course of simultaneous raids on their homes. The reason has not been declared yet. Meanwhile, a signboard in Turkish and Kurdish became the subject of a court case.

Journalist Necip Çapraz, owner of the local Yüksekova News daily, is one of ten people who were taken into custody on 21 March in Hakkari upon the directive of the Van Special Authority Public Chief Prosecution. The journalist's home was searched by the police.

Operation Related to Zirve Publishing Murders
Ergenekon Prosecutor Zekeriya Öz gave the directive for an operation in nine different provinces all over the country. The searches are related to the murder of three people at the Zirve Publishing Company in Malatya in 2007. 20 people have allegedly been taken into custody.

The police and the gendarmerie carried out operation against the Kurdish umbrella organization KCK in several cities all over Turkey. More than 120 people were taken into custody - most of them are university students and members of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party.
