Acquittal of Journalists Durukan, Çakkalkurt, Koçali and Pekgöz

Milliyet newspaper employees Durukan and Çakkalkurt were acquitted of charges of "spreading propaganda for an illegal organization" on the grounds of one of their news items and so were Günlük daily officials Koçali and Pekgöz who were tried for the same reason.

Journalists Durukan and Çakkalkurt on their Way to Jail?

The new prosecutor allocated to the trial against journalists Namık Durukan and Hasan Çakkalkurt followed his predecessor and demanded the conviction of the journalists once more. The case was postponed to 23 November.

Change of Prosecutor - Journalist Durukan's Trial Postponed

A new prosecutor was appointed to the Istanbul court dealing with the case of journalists Durukan and Çakkalkurt. He requested additional time to prepare a new submission. The previous prosecutor had demanded lengthy prison sentences for both defendants.
