According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the rate of unhappy people was 7.3 percent in Turkey in 2003, a year after the AKP came to power. In 2021, the rate of unhappy people increased to 16.6 percent.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has shared the results of its “Life Satisfaction Survey” for 2020. While 52.4 percent said that they were happy in 2019, this rate dropped to 48.2 percent last year.
