Deutsche Welle, Voice of America to appeal against RTÜK’s order to get a license
Given 72 hours by Turkey’s media watchdog RTÜK to apply for an online broadcasting license, DW Türkçe and VOA have announced that they will not make an application and will appeal against the decision.

RTÜK has notified the Voice of America, Deutsche Welle Türkçe and Euronews of its decision urging them to apply for a license. With the decision published on RTÜK’s website, the outlets have three days for application.

Report on Ida Mountains: 79 percent of the region is mining licensed
The TEMA Foundation has prepared a report on the mining activities in Ida Mountains and its surrounding area. The report has shown that 79 percent of the region is currently mining licensed while 41 percent of these licenses are active.
